Why Statewide REALTOR® Leadership Matters in Your Local Real Estate Transaction

When buying or selling a home, most people focus on location, price, and timing. What many don’t see is the work happening behind the scenes to keep real estate transactions professional, compliant, and consumer-focused across Texas.

That work takes place through organizations like Texas REALTORS®, where industry leaders gather to review laws, contracts, education standards, and policies that directly impact property owners and home buyers. Events like the recent Winter Meeting in Austin bring together leaders and volunteers from across the state to ensure REALTORS® remain informed and accountable while protecting private property rights.

Our brokers, Tracy and Ashley, spent five days in Austin participating in meetings and professional development sessions as part of their volunteer leadership roles. Tracy serves on the Texas REALTORS® Board of Directors and will soon step into the role of Chair of the Professional Development Committee, helping guide statewide REALTOR® education programs. Ashley serves as a TREPAC Trustee and on the MetroTex Board of Directors, supporting advocacy efforts and regional REALTOR® leadership.

Their involvement helps ensure that local clients benefit from up-to-date knowledge on contract changes, regulatory updates, and market trends affecting Texas real estate. Leadership participation also allows them to bring the voice of North Texas communities into statewide discussions.
