Staying Informed on Texas Property Tax Changes: Highlights from Our Hunt County REALTOR® Meeting

Today was a great day of learning and leadership at our Hunt County Area REALTOR® meeting with MetroTex. As the real estate market continues to evolve across Greenville, TX and the surrounding Hunt County communities, one of the most important things we can do as REALTORS® is stay informed, connected, and educated, especially when it comes to laws that directly impact homeowners.

New Texas Property Tax Law Changes: What Agents and Homeowners Need to Know

We were fortunate to have Brent Money join us and break down the new Texas property tax law changes that will affect both real estate professionals and property owners. These updates can influence everything from affordability to long-term ownership costs, and understanding them helps us guide clients with confidence.

Property taxes are a major part of the homeownership conversation in Texas. Whether you’re buying your first home, selling, investing, or planning for the future, changes in property tax laws can impact:

  • Monthly payment expectations (especially when escrow is involved)

  • Budgeting for future tax increases

  • Long-term home affordability in growing areas

  • Investor calculations and rental property projections

Why REALTOR® Education Matters in Hunt County

In markets like Hunt County, where we serve buyers and sellers across a wide range of price points and property types, education isn’t optional, it’s a responsibility. Staying updated on state and local changes allows us to better protect our clients and provide accurate guidance during one of the biggest financial decisions they’ll ever make.

Serving Clients Better Through Knowledge

Meetings like these aren’t just about networking, they’re about raising the standard of service in our area. When we understand the laws, trends, and changes happening in Texas real estate, we’re able to:

  • Communicate clearly with buyers and sellers

  • Help clients make confident decisions

  • Avoid surprises during the transaction

  • Advocate for homeownership and informed investing

If you have questions about Texas property taxes, buying or selling in Greenville or Hunt County, or how these changes may affect your plans, we’re always happy to help.

🏡📚 Staying informed so we can serve you better, today and always.
